Our first-ever community-led Art Exhibition: Những Miền Đất Nhớ | Lands We Remember was a truly meaningful moment — a space where cultures blended beautifully, allowing guests to experience Vietnamese culture through a different lens.
Artwork "Landscape of Huế" - artist Đặng Mậu Tựu
From the artworks to the music and conversations shared, the exhibition became more than a visual experience. It was a place of connection — where stories crossed cultures, and people met through art, memory, and human presence.
"The exhibition The Lands We Remember takes place exactly during the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. For Đặng Mậu Tựu, Huế remains his second homeland. Perhaps for that reason, he selected works and descriptions such as A Branch of Spring and Landscapes of , portraying them as “a springtime stroll of young women in Huế under bright sunshine and vibrant floral colors.” Stories of traditional Vietnamese cultural beauty in Huế are also depicted, such as the Vu Lan Festival on the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, or the Mid-Autumn Festival on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, in the artwork The Girl and the Paper Lanterns." - Excerpt from the reflections of Tran Bang Khue - a young author with many works inspired by New Zealand, currently an editor at Song Huong magazine, the official publication of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Hue City. She previously lived in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband and returned to Hue.
